PEDREK (REALISTIC AMERICAN BLACK BEAR)
The pattern for Pedrek has been developed from the ‘Peter’ pattern (winner of Realistic bears and Animals class in the Excellence in Bear Artistry Awards 2012) and as such, he’s quite ‘tubby’ (has obviously eaten well and is ready for the winter)!! He is made form 24mm dense black Schulte mohair with contrast brown used for his muzzle. Pedrek has the traditional Bear Bits embroidered nose combined with our ‘just open’ mouth, dark brown glass eyes, 3D pads on quilted dark brown ultrasuede and a wealth of scissor sculpting, trimming and airbrushed shading has been used on his head and paws. He has 8 joints (including 2 in neck and 1 in each wrist) and a ‘backbone’ (armature) from his neck to the hips. His body is loosely filled with pellets so he is really flexible and looks brilliant in a variety of positions as well as being absolutely wonderful to stroke and cuddle. (Pedrek is an old Cornish name, loosely connected with a Saint)
