CALLISTA (REALISTIC KERMODE OR SPIRIT BEAR)
The design for Callista is based on a Kermode bear, a subspecies of the American black bear, not albino but with white or cream coloured coats). She’s made in luxurious 24mm dense cream mohair with even paler sections of her muzzle and chest – this has been skilfully trimmed, sculpted and enhanced with airbrushed shading. Her wonderfully embroidered nose has been tinted with fabric dye to produce natural shading. She also has quilted 3D polymer pads on cream ultrasuede plus airbrushed shading, a firmly stuffed head and limbs and a body filled with polypellets. We have used 8 joints (2 in the neck and one in each wrist so she can turn her paws as we do our hands). Her name comes from the Greek meaning “most beautiful”.
